News: Month of the Riverman, 522 AC
Though news is slow through the winter, the following items have managed to make their way up the roads to Ravensgate:
Archbishop Haldrian, stationed in Blackgate, has disappeared, taking the coffers of the Cathedral of St. Galvaire with him.
The Khan of Dar’Sumatir has cruelly expelled all of Umbrian blood in midwinter. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, lie dead on the roads to Umbria and the Ossiri Marches. Those who survived the harsh winter on the roads are said to be selling themselves into slavery. It is expected that they will be taken south on ships for sale in the Empire as soon as the winter storms clear. Still others have banded together as brigands, and have harried the farmsteads along the Umbrian/Ossiri border.
Rumors have surfaced that despite the recent despoiling of a temple in the catacombs of Ravensgate, the Cult of the Worm has seen a recent resurgence in the free city thanks to a number of visions and visitations of the worm gods. The cultists have developed a hold on the southern parts of the city, and have declared a holy war on the heathen kenku.
